What is Personality and Personality Development ?

Personality is the uniqueness in a person’s way of expression, attitude and behaviour which can be due to various factors like genes, environment, situations, etc.It can be a deciding factor in many situations as your personality is the first thing a person sees in you. So,it’s important to have a positive personality. But, what if you feel you lack somewhere in these aspects ? Well, the answer is Personality Development.

Personality Development includes the development of an individual’s personality by construction or deconstruction of that individual’s characteristics to enhance their personality. 

Why is Personality Development so crucial ?

Personality development is crucial as it helps you grow as a person in personal life as well professional life and helps in creating a successful career. It makes an individual disciplined, well communicator, increases self awareness, increases confidence and makes you an important member of society. 

According to psychology there are mainly 5 main types of personality →

1.Extroversion-  They are commonly known as extroverts and possess characteristics like excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and high amounts of emotional expressiveness. Such people are always full of energy and are often the centre of attraction in any social gathering.

2.Agreeableness- The ‘Yes Man’ personality has characteristics such as trust, altruism, kindness and affection. Such people are often more cooperative and are team players which gives them a better chance to be successful in their careers.

3.Neuroticism – Such people can be characterised by mood swings,emotional instability, sadness, anxiety.Those who have such personality are emotionally unstable.

4.Openness – The people of this group tend to be more adventurous and have a habit of daydreaming and overthinking but also tend to have various interests and are also open to new experiences

5.Conscientiousness – Such people tend to be very focused in life and have good impulse control. They plan ahead, think about how their behaviour affects others, and are mindful of deadlines.

Role of The NeoFusion Creative Foundation

The NeoFusion Creative Foundation is a nationally certified Non Profit Organisation, started in 2013, incorporated under 25A of the Companies Act,1956, that works towards the empowerment of the underprivileged communities,especially young adults, school dropouts and the unemployed youth of India, empowering them to live their dream of being transformed and lead sustainable lives by aligning their passion and career choices.

At NeoFusion, our aim is to gain access to areas where young adults need our guidance. In cases where students or their parents are hesitant or unable to visit NeoFusion’s premises, we take performing and visual arts classes, and life skills and personality development classes for them in  different Government Schools or other educational institutions.Our vision is to make every child grow up with life skills to empower the society.Students are then encouraged to join The NeoFusion Creative Foundation for their after school classes. 

Since its inception in 2013, The NeoFusion Creative Foundation has impacted the lives of more than ten thousand young people in 21 states of India and also in Nepal.
